What is the goal of the investment?
Rehabilitate the potentially contaminated soil of abandoned industrial areas for which the party responsible for the pollution is not identifiable and give the land of these sites, so-called orphans, a new use, favouring their reintegration into the real estate market and promoting a circular economy.
- Reduce the gaps in standards of living
Industrial pollution has left a legacy of many abandoned sites (according to Legambiente, "The areas to be reclaimed, poisoned by waste and pollution of all kinds, cover over one hundred thousand hectares of land") which often represent a health risk for the exposed populations and a threat to the quality of water, soil and air. These areas, if reclaimed and redeveloped, can instead be a resource for economic development: they would offer, with respect to green areas, alternative spaces for new buildings, avoiding land use, allowing the environment to be preserved and the impacts on biodiversity to be reduced.
Rehabilitation of former industrial sites and land reclamation based on any toxic residues
Reduction of health risks in areas that have suffered industrial pollution
New areas available to the real estate market without the use of new land and without harm to the environment
