What is the goal of this investment?
To offer new opportunities to young researchers in order to keep them in Italy. The activities of 2,100 researchers will receive support according to the guidelines of the European Research Council (ERC) and the Marie Curie Individual Fellowship Programme. At least a portion of the funding will be linked to the hiring of a term researcher and short periods of travel for teaching or research activities in other areas of Italy and abroad
- Gender equality
At least 300 research grants will be set up for students, which will be selected following the criteria of the absence of environmental damage. Funding cannot be provided for projects associated with fossil fuel, nor those within the scope of the EU Emissions Trading System, unless they entail emissions well under the main benchmarks. Projects concerning landfills or incinerators, or in any way associated with the generation of long-term hazardous waste for the environment, cannot be funded either. At least 900 more researchers will be hired at some point for the realisation of research projects
