Extraordinary intervention to reduce territorial disparities in cycles I and II of senior secondary school education

What is the goal of the investment?

Ensure basic skills for at least one million students for 4 years, including through the institution of a single national portal for online instruction.  There will be promotion of mentoring for students at risk of dropping out and those who have already left school early. Online tools will also be used in this case.

Additional details

Specifically, it envisages: 

• 3 hours of individual online mentoring sessions and around 17 hours of instructional recovery for 120,000 students ages 12-18 years;

• 10 hours of mentoring, or consulting sessions, to encourage the re-entry to the world of education for 350,000 youth between 18-24 years if age and 470,000 youth at risk of dropping out. The investment is accompanied by the reform "Reform of the guidance system" which introduces training guidance for the fourth and fifth grades of secondary school, and to accompany the students in the choice of a course of study or of further vocational training (ITS), which is preparatory for joining the workforce for around 30 hours per year. Therefore, the use of an online platform for mentoring and training activities is envisaged, as well as the launch of post-diploma courses. Particular attention will be given to low-performing schools, through personalized intervention, for which purpose external staff will also be hired
