Introduction of innovative doctorates responding to the innovation needs of companies and promotion of recruiting researchers from businesses

What is the goal of the investment?

Creating new innovative programmes for doctorates to meet companies' innovation needs, and help determine the area in which these programmes will unfold.  A Hub will also be created for the economic use of the research generated by doctorates in the industrial filed, thereby encouraging the creation of spin-off's.  Additionally, incentives will be funded for the temporary hire by companies of junior researchers

Specifically, the investment will lead to the creation of 5 thousand new three-year doctoral scholarships, also through private investment. These doctoral programmes will be subject to international evaluation and comparison. They must pertain to strategic areas in the job market, in terms of opportunity for figures with high added-value skills. The regions must be involved and the doctorate must entail the researcher's residency at the company from 6 to 18 months. A residency abroad is also required, lasting from 6 to 18 months.  While the researchers and fellows to be hired via State incentives shall be 20000.  The new doctorates must be hosted in structures equipped with adequate tools for the students to carry out research activity.
