What is the goal of the investment?

Finance 25 projects for enhancement, completion and extraordinary maintenance of the primary infrastructures for source, stocking and water supply in the entire Country, so as to improve the quality of the water and guarantee the continuity of supply to the important urban areas and large irrigated areas.

The increasingly frequent water crises due to ongoing climate change means that primary water infrastructure for civil, agricultural, industrial and environmental uses must be made more efficient and resilient to ensure security of water supply in all sectors and overcome the "politics of emergency".  The investment is intended to ensure, not just the security of water supply, but adapting and maintaining the safety of structural works and their increased resilience, including in view of adapting to ongoing climate changes. The measures will have different purposes depending on the geographical area, in particular with the completion of large unfinished plants especially in Southern Italy.
