What is the goal of the investment?

The goal for the investment is to provide community and home-based health and social services to disabled individuals, to ensure their autonomy, thereby overcoming any barrier in their access to accommodation and to the job market. Assistance will be provided, in particular, to people with possibly severe disabilities who may not count on family or parental assistance.

Additional details

The project will be implemented by the towns, severally or collaboratively (local social fields), coordinated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and in collaboration with the Regions, in order to improve the capacity and the effectiveness of personalised social care services, focused on the specific needs of disabled and vulnerable individuals and their families. The interventions will focus on increasing home-care services and supporting persons with disabilities, allowing them to achieve a better quality of life, renewing home spaces based on their specific needs, developing home solutions and finding new areas also by assigning real estate property confiscated from criminal organisations. Additionally, the investment will provide vulnerable individuals and disabled persons with ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) devices to develop their digital skills, for the purpose of ensuring their economic independence and lowering barriers to accessing the job market via remote working solutions.
