Additional details

It tackles urban decay with the aim being to restore shared identities of places, thereby creating new opportunities both to relaunch local economies and mitigate the impact of the crisis and to strengthen skills in the management and maintenance of historic parks and gardens. The investment leads to increased knowledge and redevelopment of Italian historical parks and gardens with a view to their proper maintenance, management and public use, also with a view to use by tourists. Funds will be allocated for the redevelopment of these sites and the training of local staff who will be able to take care of/preserve them over time. Besides the cultural and historical value, historic gardens and parks contribute to reinforcing the environmental values that the NRRP has chosen as a guide. In addition, they play an important role in preserving the conservation of the urban fabric, in producing oxygen, in reducing environmental pollution and noise and in regulating the microclimate.
