What is the goal of the investment?
Support the construction of innovative "off-shore" facilities, which are installed several miles from coast, to produce clean energy employing technologies with high development potential and experimental technologies, for example systems that use the currents and the motion of the waves.
- Reduce the gaps in standards of living
Achieving the 2030 and 2050 renewable energy targets implies a large investment in researching innovative solutions for energy production, both in terms of technologies and facility structures and configurations. The investment involves construction of floating wind and photovoltaic facilities for at least 100 MW, including storage systems, and another 100 MW of facilities that integrate various technologies, along with the infrastructure necessary for connection to the network and for the possible electrification of local areas and infrastructure, such as docks at the ports. The facilities, realized thanks to national and foreign investors, will have a total installed capacity of 200 MW and will be capable of producing close to 480 GWh annually, contributing to a reduction of Co2 emissions estimated at 286,000 tons/yr.
