Additional details

The intervention will create a new national digital infrastructure to collect, integrate and store digital resources, making them available for public use through dedicated platforms. The interventions on the "physical" patrimony, therefore, will be accompanied by the digitalisation of cultural resources, in order to allow and implement sharing the enormous patrimony that Italy has to offer.  For a digital adaptation to occur and in order for it to be correctly provided to the citizens certain training, reskilling and upskilling courses must be taken by the operating dependants, through various levels, of the public cultural sector. There will be a total of 30 thousand operators that can enjoy the e-learning specialised course platform. Meanwhile the objective regarding the digitalisation of the resources is to reach  65 million new produced and published digital resources.

What are the benefits?

Digitalising the Italian cultural patrimony means having:
  • A national digital infrastructure to collect, integrate and store digital resources, making them available for public use through dedicated platforms
  • New cultural content and digital services by cultural, creative and start-up companies
  • Cultural personnel with new updated digital skills
  • A more available culture which is less subject to physical deterioration
