The ‘Italia Domani – Dialogues on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan’ initiative got underway on Monday 15 November at the ‘Niccolò Piccinni’ Theatre in Bari. This initiative is being organised by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to share the content and opportunities of the NRRP with citizens, companies and local authorities.
Together with the Mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro, the event was also attended by Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Roberto Garofoli and Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition Vittorio Colao, who all spoke with citizens, trade associations and companies about the projects dedicated to the city and the local area.
Undersecretary Garofoli stressed that the Plan required a results-based approach and that many resources had already been distributed, such as those dedicated to infrastructure investments, while others would be disbursed in the coming months, including those for the health system.
Undersecretary Garofoli also explained how local authorities, universities, research centres and companies would be directly involved in implementing the Plan, by responding to the respective ministries’ upcoming calls for funding applications, including those linked to nurseries, innovative schools, research and university accommodation.
During the discussion, Minister Colao described the initiatives included in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan relating to the digital transition, underlining the important role played by the public administrations in the country’s digitalisation process.
Many questions were asked by the audience, who were able to interact with the speakers during the entire event both through a dedicated app and by raising their hands. The second ‘Italia Domani – Dialogues on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan’ event will be held in Bergamo on Monday 22 November.
